Treat : A Soul’s Delight

Spread the love

Searching for fulfillment in bags, shoes, and clothes she always came up empty
Always feeling less than whole she craved someone to love her completely
Searching, looking externally to be fulfilled
Vacant, soulless what was the purpose of the mundanity?
The temporal was devoid of any divinity or was it?
Ravenous for a soulful  treat
To tantalize, mesmerize
To satiate the undying need for the extraordinary
To feel as wild and unbridled as the tempestuous seas
To be a masterpiece akin to all the colors of the rainbow
Hot passionate and robust
Refreshed energy, she finally dared to feel alive
She was everything it just took her a while to realize
She would bend but never break
Nourish and delight her soul and live a life of her own design

  1. This poem really spoke to me – I can so relate to that search for validation externally, and finally coming to realize that everything we’re searching for ‘out there’ was really within us all along. Kind of like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz – what an awakening when we finally discover the power was within us the whole time. Thanks for sharing!
