I was always a fan of trashy romance novels. I suppose all women need that little bit of imaginative spice in their lives; that heart pounding, bliss-inducing electricity these stories always describe. One part fiction, one part real life. My attempt at that dabbling with that romance novel vibe.

” What’s life without a little risk”? he whispered
She begged him to go but as he drew nearer her heart slammed against her chest
I hate everything about you she taunted
He drew her nearer and she quivered as if she was haunted
She lost all her reasoning as he gently sampled her lips
Heat flooded her body as his kisses grew more intense
Piercing and electric
His touch was her kryptonite
He persisted, she resisted
He not only ravished her body but he lay claim to part of soulful essence that night.

List 2 things you have to be happy about?

I live in a winter free zone.

I have a safe and comfortable home. I am grateful that there are no wars being fought here.

Have you ever owned a rock, pet rock, or gem that is not jewelry?

I used to collect rocks I found on the beach all of the time when I was younger. Now the only rocks I own are my crystals. They were specially chosen for my Sun Sign which is a Libra.

Are you a hugger or a non-hugger?

I don’t think I am much of a hugger; then again I am an introvert we tend to want to run from human interaction 🙂

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?

My inspiration was simple. As I heard the news of my next door neighbor’s passing; I was reminded that I should enjoy each moment. We are well aware that we must die; however, we never get used to hearing the news of someone’s passing. Don’t spend your moments being miserable. Appreciate every single second you are given.

Why did you start blogging? Any inspirations?

I started blogging because I just felt the urge to write and create. I find blogging to be quite therapeutic. My best friend who just happens to be a psychiatrist recommended that I start one; maybe she was trying to tell me that I need counseling who knows.

Inspiring well hopefully that is what I aim for it to be.

I am from Barbados. A tiny island in the Caribbean. 166 square miles to be exact. Sun, sea, and sand are what we are all about. We don’t have the typical seasons here. Barbadians love good food, rum, and calypso. Beautiful beaches are the main highlight of the island. I would like to think that it makes up for the ridiculous cost of living here.

What is something that you are passionate about?

Anything that inspires me to be creative and to express myself. I have always loved drama and the arts.

Where is your happy place?

My happy place is the beach. I honestly could spend my entire life there. I just love the water.

I would love to meet Patrick Starrr I love his bold and bubbly personality. Not to mention his makeup is to die for.

In ten years I want to be living in another country. I have not decided where yet. I will own my own business and be financially free.

What is your biggest fear?

I have a fear of drowning. I really should learn how to swim.

What is something you’ve been wanting to do but have been putting off?

I need to learn how to drive. I have been putting it off for years.

bajezen blink

In pursuit of the perfect life?
Don’t hold your breath
At the end of it, all the years seems like seconds a ripple in time
Do you really want to waste your essence steeped in despair?
Most days it feels as if you merely blink and like magic the hours disappear
Don’t be on your deathbed and lament that you never really experienced life
Seize the moments, make the best of it
Ditch the bitchin and celebrate the fact that you are alive.

An Agile Approach To Life

an agile approach bajezen

Life requires an agile approach. You have to be flexible and adaptable to maneuver those sharp turns and the rocky roads that you end up on sometimes. Change is like a river ever flowing. You will find yourself lost if you go against the tide.

happiness bajezen

Always make peace with your current situation. Remember no situation is infinite. Open your mind to all possibilities. Being overly rigid will only break you down and leave you feeling defeated. Remember to always keep moving.

Express gratitude for everything. No matter how simple. Oftentimes we have so much more than we realize because we are too busy focusing on what is missing instead of all the great things we have within our reach. Never lose sight of or take for granted all of the value that there is in your life.

Embrace the quirky imperfect being that you are. You are enough. The world needs you; not some carbon copy or a cheap imitation of who the world pressures you to be. Do not be defined by your possessions, your social status or your appearance all of that in the grand scheme of things is quite frivolous really. Work on feeding your soul, getting to know yourself so well to a point where nothing can shake you. You are a divine being. It is difficult but just drown out all of that external noise.

Live and Do All Things With Love

Some days it feels like we are merely existing as we are heavy laden with the hectic nature of modern-day life. Time is limited. There is fun to be had and memories to be made. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut. Do whatever your heart desires as long as it brings you happiness. It’s your story. No one has the right to tell you that you are doing it wrong . Screw the rules. There is no manual on how to experience life. Unpleasant moments and dubious decisions do not amount to a bad life. Don’t doubt yourself you are doing just fine.

purpose bajezen

Expand your mind.

Educate yourself. I am not just referring to studying here. Ask questions. Read. Explore. Do not just blindly follow what you have been told. Question the status quo. The world needs more independent thinkers. Immerse yourself in new cultures and unique experiences. When you learn more about others you will be less judgemental and more tolerant of someone who does not look, dress or act like you.

Your current situation is never your final destination.

Dare to live a life bountiful full of peace, love, and hope. There won’t always be rainbows and sunshine but whenever you can, however, you can call in the good.

The Daily Prompt Loophole

The rules only seem not apply to some
Puzzling and frustrating are the inequities of this life
Some can find a loophole in any sticky situation
They just live to stir the pot and cause nothing but strife
The dream and the goal is the pursuit of equality
A celebration of what is fair and just
To live in world where only good flourishes and no one has to struggle to survive
Where kindness is automatic and we appreciate the value of every life
We live in faith and hope that one day the suffering will all be gone
It all started with dream and today the dream still lives on

What is your favorite comfort snack food?

I have several but pizza wins. All that cheesy goodness 🙂

What was one of your first moneymaking jobs (other than babysitting or newspaper delivery)?

I used to bake rock cakes as we call them here in Barbados. It’s basically a larger, less refined version of a cookie. I think I sold them for 60 cents.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?

I must admit this year started off very rocky. I was in a major funk. I literally probably searched for every positive quote I could find. Sometimes I think we forget to check in with ourselves and be kind to ourselves so I did some yoga and meditation. I am going to share a short self-love meditation. This really helped my mood.

Dark and Potent
Wisps of your essence will haunt my soul for centuries
Hooked after just one touch
Your sensuous kisses melt my cold heart
Set fire to my life with just one tiny spark
You push my imagination to the limits
Thrill me, excite me
Bring me to life
A fireball of passion, you evoke the magical energy that I have kept buried deep inside

Carve Out Your Own Reality

Add heading (29).png

Unsteady footing not sure where she wanted to go in this life
Doors slammed shut and no windows open
Honestly not a sense of relief in sight
Longing for a feeling, or  some dose of inspiration
Life it was blah and surely she was lacking motivation
Afraid to weave a new tale she was so stuck on the last
Reality bites when you live in the past

None of us are certain of the exact path that we take in this life. Tomorrow is never promised and that is proven every day. We may have another minute another hour who knows? Are you going to spend your precious moments living in the past or being present?  Are you living the life you want? Like right now at this very minute?

If the answer is no, then what are you waiting for?

We all have our demons and issues to deal with. You can look at some people and see that they wear their burdens on their faces. It’s like a cycle of constant negativity repeating all the things that are wrong with your life. Then some people wonder why things never seem to go right.
Keep calling in the negativity and rehashing the issues and you never ever really breathe any fresh air. The staleness of the past trials will always continue to stand in your way.

There comes a point where you have to examine yourself and really wade through some of the bullshit that you keep repeating. It never really leaves you if you never try to learn the lessons.  I choose to let go is my current mantra. Never let being caught up in your web of so-called problems leave you bitter. If you really take a moment ,  a real moment to go deep and embrace everything that you hold inside, you will let go or make peace with all of the shit that consumes you and eats you alive.

You have to make space for something new to come in. Circumstances are not the determinant of whether you love the life that you are living. You have to carve out your own reality; not just sit on your ass and take it as it comes. In most cases, all you need to do is allow accept and move on but us imperfect beings tend to hold on to things too long. We want what we can’t have or we refuse to adapt. As the song says the grass isn’t greener on the other side it’s greener under  you.

I know what it’s like to be stuck in a story you never intended to write. You just have to remember that it is a chapter, just one chapter and not let anything overtake your life.
You create your own reality. How do you perceive it? You are either your own best friend or your worst enemy.
