Monday Musings

Monday Motivation

When you wake up do you have a lust for life?

Are you excited to start your day?

Or is a moan and a groan oh not this again; I would rather be in bed anyway.

I think for most of us this an ode to Monday. Or is this your typical day?

I can relate to feeling this way. Especially when you have a job that you are not quite in love with. This post was inspired by two of my email newsletters. They came on the same day with the same topic. I swear the Universe is always sending me signs .

Just remember when you are feeling stuck and things are seemingly not going your way. It is always about your world view. Is today going to be a murky Monday or marvellous? Are you going to let the day rule you or will you conquer the day?

Remember you and you alone are the architect of your life . Your thoughts determine your reality. You are enough . Here are your Monday mantras :

Love and Blessings,

Self care isn’t just for Sundays

self care is not just for sundays

Self-care isn’t just for Sundays. For most of us, Sundays are typically a day of rest. Having worked most Sundays for the past few months; I have grown to appreciate having this day all to myself. Something about Sundays makes me just want to chill, eat good food and lounge around in my PJs all day.

Hopefully, you guys have some downtime today to relax and reflect on the week. For those of us who are really high-strung; this your reminder to take it easy. So grab a cup of coffee or tea and check out some of my tips.

Last week I was featured on the website of a local entrepreneur. She has recently launched her website which promotes a message of positivity and motivation. My article was all about self-care. Kudos to her and anyone trying to spread some light in this sometimes very dark world.  Check out her website

Remember to take care of yourself today and every day. Happy Sunday Everyone.

What are your favourite self-care rituals?

Soothing Saturday : Beach Meditation

soothing beach meditation bajezen

This my attempt at a little beach meditation. For those who need a little bit of calm and relaxation in their day.  The health benefits of salt water are endless. Today I want to focus on mental well being.  Magnesium-rich seawater purportedly can also relax your muscles, reduce stress and help induce sleep. Magnesium depresses nerves to relieve nervous irritability for an increased sense of calmness, according to wellness pioneer and author J.I. Rondale. excerpted from

Having said this I have included a video to help with visualization. If you need a short break or a pick me up here is your small dose of Vitamin SEA.

Find yourself somewhere comfy where you won’t be disturbed. Take a deep breath in and out. Feel your body relaxing. Feel yourself letting go of everything weighing you down. Listening to the waves, imagine them washing all of your cares away.  Today’s mantra will be: I am Calm. I am soothed. I am safe. You can repeat this phrase as often as you like for as long as you wish. Just listen to the sound of the waves and let them take you away.

Have a Soothing Saturday. Love and Blessings

That one ex :Pest

Familiarity breeds contempt that’s how the old saying goes

Is this why we refer to some exes as a pest?

You look at this person and you say to yourself was

I in love or was I just insane?

It always starts as a picture perfect movie

They are flawless no faults in those rose-coloured glasses to see

Some approach with the timidity of a lamb so sweet

Until you get trapped in their web of lies

Oops too late you fell for a wolf, not a sheep

The inconsistencies finally become overwhelming so you send them away

The persistent pests don’t listen they keep begging you to stay

Maybe you cave in and take them back

Foolishly hoping they have changed

But it’s the same song and dance you fell for it again

So continues the cycle of expectations, betrayal and hurt

You finally get up the courage to end it for good

But you are haunted by memories for a while

They creep up on you each day

Which is the bigger pest? Lingering feelings or the ex that won’t go away??

Live More .. Worry Less Don’t Let Life Pester You

live more bajezen

Whenever I get a bout of monkey mind. I find solace in the beach. As soon as my body feels that first splash of salt water my mind just goes crystal and clear just like the ocean.
This morning I was contemplating life and how we take everything for granted. How we make something as simple as ”being” so complicated. Just one little morning soak with the family gave me a little perspective.
I saw these three tourists and observed how fascinated they were with the water. They were so happy and playful as they squealed and marvelled at how pristine and resplendent it was.
I thought to myself what is the big deal? I see this all the time. Then it hit me like one of those large unexpected waves. Imagine all the things that we have that we take for granted. The simple beautiful things of life and nature. Imagine all of the things we have that we do not fully appreciate that are only components of other’s dreams.
The fact that we woke up, our eyesight, the smell of the ocean, the smile of a loved one. All of these things we sometimes ignore because we are so occupied with life’s pests. The things and people we allow to aggravate us and the preoccupation with our ”problems”.

Ah, problems those inconvenient pests that get under our skin. They buzz in our ears and overtake our brains. They may make us obsessed with worry until we fret and complain. Worrying is just like a hamster on a wheel taking us nowhere fast.  I have learned this the hard way.
So I made a promise to myself to be more mindful and focus on what’s good and focus on the here and now. As they say when we focus on the good, the good get better . Focus on your problems and they will seem insurmountable. Don’t let the struggles of life pester you. Remember you get what you give.

I will leave you with the chorus to that New Radicals song You get what you give. These lyrics always have motivated me whenever I have felt overwhelmed  I love 90’s music.
Don’t let go
You’ve got the music in you
One dance left
This world is gonna pull through
Don’t give up
You’ve got a reason to live
Can’t forget
We only get what we give
Good vibes and love to all on this Soothing Saturday.

Dive beneath the surface :Shallow

It’s all about image that’s what they say

Looks before personality

Look good for the clicks, for the likes

Nowadays that’s the game we play

Conversations have become emojis,  quips and phrases

So easy to ”connect” but we never dive beneath the surface

Then we sit and wonder why some relationships have become so shallow

Afraid to go deep, hearts have grown so cold

Tantalised by the visual

We forget to stimulate the mind and the soul.

Something about water : Satisfaction

There is something about water that soothes my soul.   The sight of it, the sound of it. It is just so relaxing and invigorating. I am particularly passionate about the beach but any glistening water view just tickles my fancy and brings me so much joy.  Beautiful blues and luminous waters. I hope you enjoy these views as well. Love and Blessings Tachi
