Surrender to the moment.
Just let it be. Whatever it is.
Don’t force it. Don’t judge it.
Don’t fear it. Just feel it.
Accept it. Just be it. Just Live.

Sometimes I long for simple days.  The days when all I had to do was concern myself with what I wanted to eat for lunch. Just maybe I miss being a toddler. I envy my daughter sometimes, such a carefree unbridled bundle of energy. Some days as much as I hate to admit it; life is synonymous with overwhelm. We take on everything. We take on far too much until we feel like we have the weight of the entire Universe on our shoulders.
It is safe to say sometimes I think this adulting business can miss me. I just want to be like a toddler and run around in my underwear and do whatever my little heart desires.

The bills are due and you are sitting there thinking about tomorrow and all of the things that you have to do. I don’t know about you but I am sick of to do lists. Yes, they keep us organized but they also keep us busy. So busy that we forget that we were not created to do stuff all the time. We were created to be joyful and carefree and to just simply be.

Anyone out there ever had an anxiety attack? I really do not know how to describe it. The walls are closing in. You are trying your best to keep shit together. Keep it all together. I am that kind of woman. I want to do it all and I want to do it all alone. Of course, I know this is not logical but as much as we resist we are all affected by the pressures of daily life at some point.
When I get anxious, I literally forget to breathe. I think most of my anxiousness is brought on by my endless need for mental to-do lists. Things are not how I want them to be or maybe I have so many things I “must do”. My mind is not present and I am trying to live oh so many moments at once.

All the trivial things you worry about can make u manic. What are you doing? Living for next week next month next year? Or are you beating yourself up for something you did or did not do last year? We often forget that all we ever really have is now. Have you ever been overwhelmed? Truly overwhelmed? During these periods of overwhelm so many mixed emotions can arise. None of them, at least in my case are ever anything good. Self-doubt, fear, shame they all come crashing down like thunderstorms. Even for the strong ones, it can be too much to bear. I strongly believe in the immensely beautiful power of words; so I came up with five affirmations that can help you reset and refocus your mind when you are overwhelmed.
We all have those days when we feel like the world is against us.

Sometimes you just need a reminder to think happy thoughts and JUST BREATHE.

We all have those days when we forget how awesome we are. Do not place your value in the hands of those who do not appreciate you You are a STAR. Don’t you ever forget it .  Nip those feelings of unworthiness in the bud with this affirmation.

As one of my good friends said just today as much self -love you have there are things that happen that will shake you , that will sting a little. We are after all perfectly imperfectly.  All you can do is take life’s challenges in stride. Keep your head held high and march forward t the future you have envisioned. Just remember no matter what you are confident and strong and you have got this.

Most importantly;  Life for today for this moment.  Stop looking back and stay focused on the prize.

Love this! I will definitely keep this in my mind the next time I am feeling overwhelmed! Thank you!

    • Thanks Lynley . I have been feeling this way a lot lately so decided to turn it into something that could help others . Hope all is well with you ❤

  2. I LOVE this! It’s always so much better when we can lift one another up!
My number one is “I Love Myself and the circumstances life presents me” It’s hard to learn to love yourself but when you do it is the best feeling, and I can handle anything that life throws at me.

  3. Last year, I read a book about affirmations last year some time after finding myself in a rut I couldn’t seem to get out of. I started implementing the practice in my everyday life and saw really positive change.

    Great post! x

    • Speaking positively really puts that good energy out there and totally makes things turn around for you . Thanks for commenting.

I loved reading this. Its nice to know that we all feel overwhelmed sometimes. Sometimes the to-do list needs to go back to the back of the drawer and be ignored. Living for the moment is something that Im trying to get better at. Thanks for posting!

  5. I believe there is power in our thoughts and our words. I try to be mindful of what I am saying to myself. One of my faves is – I may not be where I want to be – thank God I am not where I used to be – I am okay and I am in my way. Blessings

  6. I have created my own little mantra that has really helped me to calm my anxiety. I appreciate some more ideas though as sometimes I need to take it a step further!

  7. If only we could all live a simple life and not get so carried away with things that sometimes don’t even concern us. It’s amazing how if we just took 2 minutes to slow down our breathing and repeat words of affirmation, we would all be much calmer and relaxed.

  8. Love this post! Will have to keep this post in mind when I need a reminder during tough times or when I’m stressed. It’s so true about the To Do lists, they make us busy and we shouldn’t force ourselves to do it all.

  9. Hi this is such a beautiful collection of inspirational pieces. I like the part about bills and “to do lists” as they are oh so familiar and they do keep us away from reality, thinking that that is reality.

Do share your picture quotes on Instagram and pintrest as well as they are sure to positively change the mood of anyone ?‍♀️

    • Thanks so much for your kind words. I try to share them to Pinterest and Instagram as long as I have tome to make the graphics . Glad you think they are good enough to turn anyone’s mood around.

  10. Lovely! Overwhelm is such an easy state to fall into, but when I do, I find myself momentarily paralyzed, which of course makes it worse! It always helps to take a moment and breathe and get perspective. Thanks!

  11. I get overwhelmed so easily! I love affirmations and these are some great ones to keep in my back pocket for when the anxiety starts creeping in. <3

  15. My favorite affirmation from these is “I am bold. I am Fierce. Nothing can shake me. I overcome all of my obstacles with confidence.” I have been saying that a lot lately and will repeat on a daily basis now.

  16. This couldn’t have popped up on my feed at a more perfect time! I was just thinking about how I need to just slow down and BREATHE. I have been feeling extremely overwhelmed lately and it’s because I overload myself each day. My faith has shaken and I need to just take a moment, be still and know my God has got this!

There’s something called tapping (and ETF) that is basically telling yourself affirmations while lightly tapping on different parts of your face and body that supposed to help retrain how you think about certain things. It’s amazing how we’re usually our biggest critic, when really we should be our own biggest supporter. Loved this post! 🙂

    • I have heard about tapping but I have not gotten that deep into it but it sounds heavenly. I literally tell my self to shut up when I get on that negative bandwagon . Thanks for commenting . Will give tapping a try .

  18. its no wonder we’re all feeling overwhelmed, life is too busy, too full and everyones trying to live a “perfect life” usually by someone elses standards. These are great affirmations and a great reminder that no-one is perfect and we should make “the best of each moment”. Great blog post as always Tachi x.
